So my first post is going to be from Kansas. *sigh*- this WILL become a DC-based blog I promise! I'm going to be spending through the New Year's here, then I'll be coming back home, and probably playing alot with my new lens. The picture is from it :) I
I got a Canon EF 100mm f2.8 lens for Christmas, along with the necessary accessories, and I've been loving it. This lens kicks my old lenses ass, even if it is specialized, and has a fixed focal length. The colors seem way more crisp, the pictures just come out way cleaner, and I'm in general very impressed with what it's done so far. I've got a lot of learning to do to use it.
Meanwhile... this coming month is going to be one of the two 3-pay period months of the year, and with that, I'm very tempted to take the extra income and put it into another high-end lens. Not going to kid you, this new lens is inspiring me to see what other good glass can do for me.
In other news... I kinda can't wait until I get to play with the new lens in DC... there's so many photo ops there relative to here, though I do love the nature scenes, I'm a fan of the National mall, and the monuments in general. Now... I just need to convince another friend or two to visit me, so I can double up when I go out to snap pics- it's always more fun that way, though at this point, I know enough people from work that I might be able to con one or two to join me.
